The Montastic Dashboard widget for Mac OS X lets you see the status of all your servers, courtesy of Montastic, "the free website monitoring service that doesn't suck." You will need a free Montastic account to use this widget.
Download version of the Montastic Dashboard widget ( ).
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger or higher is required. If you're using Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it. If you're using a browser other than Safari, click the download link. When the widget download is complete, unarchive it and place it in /Library/Widgets/ in your home folder. Show Dashboard, click the Plus sign to display the Widget Bar and click the widget's icon in the Widget Bar to open it.
After installing the Montastic Dashboard widget, click on the "i" that appears in the lower right corner when your mouse is over the widget. On the reverse side, enter your Montasic access key, found on the Montastic site by clicking on the "Me profile" link. Click "Done" on the widget and it will start monitoring your servers.
The Montastic Dashboard widget will remain green as long as all your servers are well. When one or more have problems, it will turn red and show you how many servers are not responding.
Clicking on the green or red portion of the widget will take you to your Montastic servers page.
